Curious? Changes are Coming!

I’ve finally finished my memoir, Larger than Life, Living in the Shadows of Elephants, and I’m sending queries to agents. In the meantime I’ve begun a new project, a fictional account of my ancestors’ experiences on the Oregon Trail, Her Diary, Unwritten. I want to redesign this website to be able to reflect both books, and will be working on that soon. Thanks everyone for following me in the past. See you again soon!

Cheryl Merrill’s essays have been published in Fourth Genre, Pilgrimage, Brevity, Seems, South Loop Review, Ghoti, Alaska Quarterly Review, Adventum and Isotope. “Singing Like Yma Sumac” was selected for the Best of Brevity 2005 and Creative Nonfiction #27. It was also included in the anthology Short Takes: Model Essays for Composition, 10th Edition. Another essay, “Trunk,” was chosen for Special Mention in Pushcart 2008. She is currently working on a book about elephants: Larger than Life: Living in the Shadows of Elephants.

    1. Thank you Motria! It’ll be awhile before publication, at least a year. And I live vicariously through your wonderful posts on FB. Especially swimming in the sea, since I now live in the middle of a desert.
